Andrea Carew-Reid is an artist living and working in the South West of Western Australia. Having always lived and loved the creative arts Andrea took up studying Certificate IV in Visual Arts at Perth Central TAFE. After graduating she went on to complete a Bachelor of Creative Arts at Edith Cowan University. Since graduating she spent time developing a wider understanding of the art's industry, working on individual and collaborative projects and teaching art to children and adults.
Andrea often works in a variety mediums but her signature style can be recognised in her intricate illustrative pieces.
' Often my art consists of bold, bright colour, pattern and repetition. I enjoy how these elements, when used together, can transform any inanimate object into an ornate piece of art, providing the viewer with a different perspective of the subject matter. I take my inspiration from a number of things, such as my love for cultural art and tribal design and my love for animals and nature.'
So why 'Reid and Crew'? Those that have a hyphenated surname will understand that it comes with its inconveniences, complex spelling, twisted tounges and phone operators who start talking before you have started to spell the second 'half'. Reid and Crew is a little play on all of this.
